Brews and beautiful scenery combined at a live music and beer festival at a village pub.
Members of the South Oxfordshire Branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) were delighted to visit The Plum Pudding in Milton, near Didcot, which has won numerous awards from the organisation for the quality and range of its real ales and cider, as well as the great atmosphere.
Hosts Jez and Mandy Hill provided a selection of 14 cask ales, set up in the wonderful walled garden outside the back of the pub.
The beers came from far and wide in the UK, including the Isle of Man, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the Orkney Islands, among others.
As well as the usual pale ales, bitters and IPAs, customers could also sample a white stout, a raspberry porter and a beer something akin to a tiramisu porter.
Traditional ciders and a perry were also supplied by local producer Tutts Clump.
Chair of South Oxfordshire CAMRA Graham Hards said: "Despite the weather being rather overcast, a steady stream of customers game though the doors, with pretty much all the tables inside, and many outside, taken by mid-afternoon.
"The beers were proving very popular with the customers and the pub was expecting most them to be well on the way to selling out by the time the live music act, a tribute to the Rolling Stones and the Blues Brothers, took to the stage later in the evening.
"As ever it was a most enjoyable event, with some great tasting beers, and held in one of the loveliest settings possible for a beer festival.”
