Dendra Systems has secured $15.76 million (£12.5 million) in Series B funding to drive expansion and innovation.

The Oxford-based company, specialising in technology-driven ecological restoration, succeeded in closing the round with contributions led by Zouk Capital, and with substantial participation from Aramco Ventures, Airbus Ventures, Understorey Capital and Helium-3 Ventures.

Since its founding in 2014, Dendra Systems has gathered a force of 87 professionals across the UK, Australia, UAE, and US.

The company's mission focuses on restoring global ecosystems using their RestorationOS™ solution, which consists of advanced data capture, drone seeding, and an encompassing AI-enabled ecosystem insights platform.

This innovative operations model allows for large scale, rapid restoration efforts that can be continuously monitored, managed and reported on.

Dendra Systems are applying their market-leading technology to aid clients, including Rio Tinto, Glencore, Liontown, BHP, and the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), in meeting their environmental targets.

With their hands in managing over 70,000 hectares, Dendra Systems is setting a benchmark in nature restoration, demonstrating their capabilities spanning many sectors from mining and infrastructure to mangrove and arid ecosystem restoration.

The newly acquired funds are to be used to expand into new geographic locations and to continually improve their pioneering AI-enabled ecology platform.

This is all in the name of addressing the dire necessity of large scale restoration solutions amidst rising environmental issues within the mining sector and energy transition-related industries.
